Biochemical and pharmacological experiments at Institute of Pharmacology are focused on functional assays to characterize activity of mGluR ligands, and on behavioral tests (e.g. tail suspension test, forced swim test, elevated plus-maze test, modified stress induced test, hypothermia and locomotor activity) that are necessary to detect antidepressant and or anxiolytic activity of new compounds.
