An academia-based platform that is a complex research system for drug discovery process will accelerate identification of new chemicals with proven antidepressant and/or anxiolytic properties. This will enable potential commercial application of results via the initiation of patent procedures. Innovative solutions are applying to molecular targets (selected serotonin receptors and glutamate system) emerging as new and “hot” candidates to mediate a given therapeutic action. Well organized and managed within a framework of PNRF is supported till 30 June 2011 and recently it has gotten further funds for its future research within the frame of DeMeTer Project up to the end of the year 2013.
